Alcohol and Drug-Free Family Focused Event.  Come out and show the kids of our community that adults know how to have fun and celebrate sober.  Plus it's a great cultural event with yummy food and fungames.

Common's Beach 400 North Lake Blvd. Tahoe City Ca.

Join the Placer County Sheriff’s Office and your local community partners in  National Night Out

Join the celebration with Free Hot dogs, chips, soda, cake.  Free carnival games on the beach, with prizes for the kids.  

Tahoe Truckee Future Without Drug Dependence (TTFWDD) is hosting the “Dunk a Cop, Not a Donut” Dunk Tank.   In addition, this event will be accepting medication for the community’s Rx Safe Disposal Bin located at the Sheriffs office in Tahoe City. Bring expired and unwanted medication for safe disposal.  North Tahoe Public Utility District will have a booth with water safety and conservation information on hand.

National Night Out began in 1984 and now involves more than 37.8 million people and 16,200 communities from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. It’s a celebration across America with various events and activities including, but not limited to, block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from emergency personnel, rallies and marches, exhibits, youth events, safety demonstrations and seminars, in effort to heighten awareness and enhance community relations.

Next steps for those who attended the SBIRT Training in increasing skills to quickly screen clients for substance use related problems, intervene, and refer for support services.

TT-FWDD is proud to announce the grand opening of North Tahoe's First Permanent Rx Safe Disposal Bin at National Night Out. Free fun, food, prizes, and featuring a dunk tank.  Try your luck dunking County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery and Placer Sheriff Captain Jeff Ausnow.

Tuesday May 21st, 2013 7:30-8pm Telephone Town Hall "How to keep healthy, safe and free from drugs and alcohol thru the summer"

  The TT-FWDD Coalition will be hosting a Tele-Town Hall live phone forum on Tuesday, May 21 from 7:30pm-8:00pm with local experts from the Tahoe-Truckee community.  The call is free and focused on the upcoming graduation and summer season and will be targeted at parents on ways to keep their children healthy and safe from the exposure of alcohol and drugs that are often associated with these events. Calls will go out to all registered voters in the TTUSD zip codes but participants may choose to call in also, (855)-246-7045 Ext.21488# We will have a panel of community experts including: North Tahoe High School Principal Truckee Chief of Police, Community Recovery Resources Drug and alcohol counselor, and the President of the Parents for Public Schools of Truckee North Tahoe. We will have an experienced and qualified facilitator who will be discussing: Our local teen data, and issues related to substance abuse, what are the risks associated with teen alcohol and drug use, and what strategies can parents use to increase the likelihood that their children won't use.  Also ways to increase table talk time

 

 Friday July 20th,2012 1-8pm "Unwind and Revive" ....A Day of Beauty for a Good Cause.  Unwind Salon in Truckee is hosting a Summer Spa Spritzer Fundraiser for TT-FWDD  youth drug and alcohol prevention.  All services are by donation and 100% of proceeds benefit TT-FWDD. Spa Menu includes: Haircuts, Special Effects Highlights, Facial Waxing, Chair Massage,Tanning Booth, and Nails.  Free food and beverages.  Live Music and resources.  Appointments Encouraged but Walk-ins Welcomed.  Call 530 582-9344.  Alcohol and Drug-Free Family Friendly Event.  See the flyer below.
